The Ninja Metrics Story

With the rapid rise of online games and other socialization platforms; and the opportunity for leveraging intelligence from human behavioral data for various applications, it is not surprising that Social Analytics is one of the hottest areas for startups today. Ninja Metrics, however, is a company with a crucial difference.

While Ninja Metrics is new, the team behind it is not. Since 2007 this team has run the world's leading research project in the multi-disciplinary area of computational social science VWE Observatory. Having received rigorously competitive funding from federal agencies including the National Science Foundation, the Air Force, the Army, and others, Ninja Metrics brings to market the most sophisticated and powerful technology for social analytics that exists today.

One of the unique aspects of the Ninja Metrics team is its group of world class social scientists and game experts, and computational scientists with expertise in AI and machine learning. This has enabled the development of social analytics technology that combines deep social science theories with cutting edge machine learning to develop high accuracy predictive models for human behavior. Ninja Metrics has filed a number of patents on these technologies.

In addition to cutting edge knowledge in games and technology, the Ninja Metrics team brings significant experience and expertise in the building and deployment of scalable software systems. This enabled us from the very start to work with full-scale commercial game vendors, who generate terabytes of data per day; and thus building an ultra-scalable, cloud computing-based social analytics platform was our decision from the very beginning.

While the commercial applications of Ninja Metrics' technology are many, our initial focus is to help our customers, i.e. game companies, answer the following questions:

  • Know who matters in your system: patented network influence for targeting, retention and spending.
  • Know how to affect the network: interventions, changes to your system, customer service triage.
  • Know what will happen next: Most analysis is of what just happened. We offer predictive analysis of what is likely to happen next, with science to back it up.

Social networks work more virally than anyone thought. Behaviors spread over time, for everything from buying, quitting, and even moods. Knowing how things spread tells you who matters in the network. Some people are more influential than others. We quantify everyone, enabling you to see the whole network, and then deep down, who is driving the behaviors. We actually tell you the value—for each person—based on their influence.

Welcome to Ninja Metrics, and let us help you understand the world of your customers better.
