F2P Long-term Player Retention
Making a great first impression for your players with an engaging and fun experience is the start to success of any video game, but it doesn’t end there - the next important step (especially in Free-to-Play) is getting them to stay hooked and come back for more.
With F2P games, player retention is the most important piece to the puzzle - you aren’t going to make any revenue if you can’t keep players engaged and convince them to buy IAP’s. Even more important is planning for the long-term, for example, engaging player by creating a vision of what the player might become if some time, and possibly some money, is put into the game.

Should Game Developers go to School?
The current Information Age has provided us with an abundance of learning opportunities, tools and information - conveniently available at our fingertips and often for free. Many successful people have taken advantage of these resources (i.e. some indie gaming developers), and either didn’t go to college or dropped out to pursue their dreams.

Apple, Google and Amazon Fight for Mobile Gaming Exclusives
Video game exclusives have been all too common among consoles, with examples like Microsoft’s Halo, Nintendo’s Mario and PlayStation’s Gran Turismo franchises. One thing we haven’t seen much of though, is the exclusivity business model being applied to mobile gaming - until recently.
A new report by the Wall Street Journal outlines the latest tactics that companies like Apple, Google and Amazon have been using to try and secure exclusive video game titles on their platforms - as they mostly focus on promotional and premium placement incentives for developers.
